Job Description: Commercial Banker

Commercial Bankers are responsible for evaluating the financial strength and creditworthiness of business clients seeking loans. The main goal of this role is to build and maintain profitable client relationships by delivering tailored financial solutions. This position requires strong relationship management skills, product and credit knowledge, and the ability to independently manage a portfolio of clients. Performance is measured by business growth, revenue generation, risk management, and long-term client relationship success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and develop new commercial banking relationships through prospecting, referrals, and cross-selling activities.
• Build and maintain Centers of Influence (COIs) and actively participate in networking events.
• Structure loans and conduct detailed credit analysis to assess borrower risk.
• Provide financing solutions for commercial and real estate lending opportunities.
• Manage and close loans typically ranging from $1M to $10M.
• Promote and cross-sell additional banking products to increase deposit growth.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This role does not include supervisory duties or team management responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 4 years in lending, credit analysis, or relationship management.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial banking products, credit underwriting, and both C&I and commercial real estate lending.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong business development and client relationship management skills.
• Ability to grow loan portfolios and effectively cross-sell banking products.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent communication and active listening.
• Regular use of hands and fingers for computer and office tasks.
• Ability to review documents and perform administrative work.
• Sedentary work with occasional lifting up to 10 lbs.

• Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
