Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Mortgage Area Supervisor is to lead a team of Mortgage Loan Originators in achieving sales and production goals while upholding operational excellence. This position involves talent development, performance management, customer relationship building, and adherence to mortgage regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

• Achieving a high school diploma or its comparable alternative is a prevalent academic goal
• Possessing at least two years of experience selling mortgages

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Demonstrated expertise in driving business growth and adeptly handling client relationships
• Solid comprehension of sales practices and methods
• Extensive awareness of mortgage offerings, operations, and the current market landscape
• Comprehending the pricing and underwriting requirements of various mortgage insurance companies is necessary
• Comprehension of the underwriting criteria for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors is vital, whether learned through practical involvement in the field or from past work in a real estate firm
• Well-versed in the legal landscape spanning local, state, and national domains, covering aspects like zoning ordinances, Truth-in-Lending rules, RESPA guidelines, and energy audit requirements
• Advanced skills in managing customer interactions and fostering client connections
• Exhibiting a strong orientation towards attention to detail and the competence to evaluate financial data
• Sound verbal, written, and interpersonal communication capabilities
• Individuals need to be capable of meeting the appropriate criteria for conducting tasks outside of their usual business location
• Creating a referral base in the assigned region is the ideal approach
• Documented history of accomplishments in originating mortgage loans for 24 months

Responsibilities:

• Direct the activities of a small team of Mortgage Loan Originators on a daily basis.
• Obtain the necessary documents in a timely manner from the appropriate outlets for processing, underwriting, and finalization purposes.
• Attain the annual loan origination targets established by top management.
• Create and manage relationships with referral sources like real estate agents and builders to maintain a consistent flow of loan business.
• Engage actively in local and state associations focused on mortgage banking, real estate agents, and construction companies.
• Stay up-to-date on mortgage industry expertise and contemporary topics.
• Promote partnerships and cooperation between U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and other organizational divisions to enhance customer engagement and drive the sale of supplementary products.
• Attract, engage in interviews with, and educate new talent within the organization.
