Job Description:

The Cash Handling Representative supports daily branch operations by processing banking transactions, managing cash accurately, and delivering reliable customer service. This role assists with account needs, handles financial transactions, builds customer relationships, and identifies opportunities to connect customers with suitable banking products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process routine banking transactions at branch lobby and drive-through service locations.
• Provide professional customer service while developing strong and lasting customer relationships.
• Handle deposits, loan payments, checks, savings withdrawals, night deposits, and deposits received by mail.
• Process cashier's checks and assist with savings bond redemption requests.
• Answer customer questions and provide account assistance through in-person and telephone interactions.
• Complete additional financial transactions and prepare currency transaction reports when necessary.
• Identify customer needs, explain relevant banking products and services, and make appropriate referrals.
• Use 360View to document customer activities, events, referrals, recommendations, and interactions with internal departments and business partners.
• Assist with the review and processing of consumer credit card applications.
• Handle specialized customer requests, including account closures, check orders, foreign currency exchanges, statement copies, referrals, and safe-deposit box services.
• Maintain proper cash drawer levels, secure excess or damaged currency, and coordinate cash transfers with authorized vault personnel.
• Follow established banking procedures, security requirements, and dual-control standards.
• Protect customer privacy and maintain the confidentiality of financial and personal information.
• Participate in training and development programs to strengthen banking knowledge and job-related skills.
• Work with branch team members to improve customer service and contribute to branch performance.
• Maintain knowledge of banking products and demonstrate proficiency with customer-facing technology and systems.
• Complete assigned work accurately while maintaining a low transaction error rate.
• Participate in approved volunteer and community service activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Previous cash-handling experience is preferred.
