Job Description for Commercial Banker:

Commercial Bankers at UMB are experts in building customer relationships and providing tailored financial solutions. Using their product knowledge and every customer interaction, they help clients secure their financial well-being while making banking simple and efficient.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Use personalized questioning techniques to turn routine transactions, account maintenance, and service requests into meaningful cross-selling opportunities that strengthen client relationships.
• Proactively generate sales leads by contacting prospects, visiting businesses to present workplace banking options, and cultivating referral networks.
• Manage multiple tasks while consistently achieving daily key performance metrics.
• Follow standardized processes for handling transactions, managing cash registers, and completing banking documentation while maintaining compliance with industry and legal standards.

Qualifications:

• Thrives in a high-energy, sales-focused team environment, using coaching and feedback to enhance performance.
• Applies in-depth product knowledge and strong communication skills to improve clients’ financial outcomes.
• Effectively communicates, projects a positive image, and enjoys resolving challenges to deliver beneficial results.
• Shows attention to detail in completing documentation and explaining features and benefits.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of retail or customer-facing experience with product recommendations and sales impact preferred.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to work branch hours, including weekends and occasional evenings.
• Eligibility to obtain NMLS registration within 90 days if required.
