Job Descriptipon:

A Mortgage Loan Advisor is responsible for evaluating loan applications, verifying financial information, and guiding applicants through each stage of the mortgage process.

Atlantic Union Bank is currently hiring Mortgage Loan Advisors for the Tidewater Market in Virginia, including Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads, Chesapeake, and Norfolk. Candidates must have at least two years of recent Mortgage Loan Officer experience, along with proven performance and established relationships within a defined market.

Position Accountabilities:

• Assist clients in completing mortgage applications through phone, mail, or in-person consultations and approve required disclosures
• Ensure all application fields and third-party documentation are completed before submission for approval
• Determine appropriate loan program placement including FHA, VA, Conventional, USDA, and other products
• Follow company policies when pricing loans and locking interest rates
• Review returned applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• Run Automated Underwriting System (AUS) findings and evaluate required documentation
• Establish pre-qualification criteria according to company guidelines
• Order credit reports, property appraisals, and title searches
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients and referral partners
• Support borrowers throughout the loan process and respond to inquiries
• Ensure timely submission of loan files and coordinate with processing teams
• Manage loan pipeline and track progress to meet deadlines
• Assist processors and internal stakeholders throughout the loan lifecycle
• Meet or exceed production goals and performance expectations
• Attend loan closings when applicable
• Develop annual business plans and collaborate regularly with sales management
• Stay informed on market trends, real estate conditions, and regulatory updates
• Maintain professionalism in accordance with company standards

Organizational Relationship:

• Reports to Sales Manager or Branch Manager

Position Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Minimum of two years of mortgage loan officer or related industry experience required
• NMLS registration required

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to generate independent leads and develop new business opportunities
• Strong client relationship management skills
• Knowledge of mortgage loan products and underwriting guidelines
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, processors, and internal teams

Compensation and Equal Opportunity:

Compensation will be based on education, experience, certifications, and other relevant factors. This role may also be eligible for incentive compensation or discretionary profit-sharing bonuses.
