The responsibilities of a Floating Banking Associate include offering personalized financial solutions to clients by assisting them with their everyday banking needs, managing and operating accounts, and suggesting appropriate products and services.

Core job functions and obligations:

Business Development:

• Quickly establish a consistent SBA business development cadence in the marketplace, including but not limited to:
• Structuring phone communications and monitoring follow-through
• Client retention calls
• New client prospecting
• Making outbound calls to connect with prospects or clients
• Networking events
• Cultivate and diversify a developed COI base featuring influential members from community and business domains to catalyze referral generation
• Managing sales operations, analyzing creditworthiness, creating loan structures, submitting SBA loan packages, meeting with clients, and assessing individual characteristics
• Establish unique ties and forge fresh alliances to grow your business connections

Credit Acumen:

• Shows adeptness in interpreting financial tools and credit opportunities for businesses, highlighting:
• Organizing relevant terms and merchandise to meet the business requirements, asset life expectancy, and strategies for growth
• Interpreting financial statements and tax returns helps in the evaluation of creditworthiness and risk for both personal and business purposes
• Recognizing immediate and future credit requirements according to the fluctuations in business revenue patterns and expansion strategies
• Advises potential customers on bank underwriting standards, Small Business Administration programs, and applicable government rules
• Assists attorneys, loan closers, and internal staff in coordinating activities to ensure loans are closed and funded promptly
• Coordinates the alignment of business objectives with customer requirements while also overseeing risk exposure
• Adheres to the values and standards prescribed in Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct
• Offers mentoring services to junior SBA lenders to enhance their skills and knowledge
• Adheres to the guidelines and protocols of financial institution policies, such as those related to BSA, AML, and OFAC standards
• Evaluates loan applications and gathers necessary applicant information while upholding fair lending standards and ethical sales practices
• Resolves customer problems in a prompt and professional manner, involving higher levels of management when needed

Education And Experience:

• A high school diploma or its equivalent is necessary
• Those with a financial-related college degree are prioritized
• Experience in SBA lending for at least five years is the preferred qualification for this role
• Applicants are required to have over 10 years of experience in either business development or financial services
• Excellent at communicating through writing, speaking, and interpersonal connections
• Mastery in handling desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office Suite
