Job Summary:

An Investment Banking Associate provides tailored financial solutions to clients by assisting with routine banking needs, managing accounts, and recommending appropriate financial products and investment offerings. This role supports business growth, advises on financing strategies, and ensures compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

Core Job Functions and Responsibilities:

Business Development:

• Drive a consistent growth strategy for Small Business Administration (SBA) and corporate lending initiatives, including:
• Planning and executing follow-up calls and actions
• Conducting client retention and relationship-building outreach
• Prospecting and onboarding new clients
• Initiating contact with external business partners and investors
• Participating in networking and industry events to build relationships and referral opportunities
• Oversee sales efforts, assess creditworthiness, set appropriate loan terms, prepare and submit SBA and corporate loan applications, conduct client interviews, and evaluate individual and business qualities
• Develop new business connections and partnerships to expand the firm’s client base

Credit and Financial Acumen:

• Demonstrates deep understanding of corporate credit and investment options, including structuring appropriate solutions based on client needs, asset life cycles, and growth plans
• Analyze business and personal financial statements, tax returns, and other documents to evaluate creditworthiness and risk
• Identify immediate and future financing needs in line with business revenue patterns and strategic growth objectives
• Educate clients on lending criteria, SBA programs, investment banking processes, and regulatory frameworks
• Collaborate with legal teams, loan closers, and internal departments to ensure timely execution and funding of loans or transactions
• Effectively balance business objectives with client preferences while mitigating potential risks
• Uphold Seacoast Bank’s ethical and behavioral standards
• Mentor and guide junior SBA or investment bankers in professional development
• Ensure adherence to bank policies, including BSA, AML, and OFAC compliance
• Review loan applications, collect necessary documentation, and maintain equitable lending practices and ethical sales conduct
• Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally, escalating issues as needed

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• College degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field preferred
• At least five years of relevant experience in SBA lending or investment banking is highly desirable
• Minimum of ten years of experience in business development, corporate finance, or financial services
• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency in using desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office Suite
