The Relationship Banker works with customers and prospects to understand their financial needs and recommend suitable solutions. The role focuses on maintaining strong customer relationships while following the bank's service commitments, vision, and values.
Responsibilities:
Provide personalized service to customers in person and over the phone by answering questions, resolving issues, and offering appropriate solutions.
Manage personal and business checking and savings accounts, IRAs, CDs, consumer and small business credit cards, and various personal loan products.
Review and process loan applications for new consumer and small business customers.
Talk with customers and prospects about their financial needs and recommend suitable products and services.
Identify opportunities to refer customers to Home Loans, Treasury Solutions, Merchant Services, Business Banking, and Wealth Management.
Use 360 View to record referrals, customer conversations, and other relationship activities.
Build and strengthen customer relationships through regular communication, follow-ups, and proactive outreach.
Perform Teller duties when needed, including check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and accurate handling of cash and coins.
Complete assigned work accurately and keep errors to a minimum.
Participate in volunteer activities that promote financial education and awareness.
Stay informed about regulatory changes and follow all applicable banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
Follow required standards and apply knowledge gained through education, training, and practical work experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Pay close attention to detail and follow written and verbal instructions.
Protect confidential customer and company information at all times.
Communicate with customers and coworkers in a professional, respectful, and tactful manner.
Comfortably use computers, Microsoft applications, and 10-key equipment.
Have a working knowledge of digital platforms, CRM systems, and new technologies.
Read and understand basic instructions, correspondence, and memos.
Write clear and simple business communications.
Explain information clearly to customers and coworkers in individual and small-group settings.
Perform basic calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Calculate rates and percentages and understand information shown in bar graphs.
Use practical judgment to follow detailed but straightforward written and verbal instructions.
Solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standard situations.
Complete work on time and adjust to changing workloads and deadlines.
Maintain accuracy, quality, professionalism, and attention to detail in daily responsibilities.
Take initiative and set a positive example for others.
Mortgage Licensing Requirements:
This position must comply with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and related regulations. Employment depends on meeting these requirements, including receiving acceptable results from required background checks.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate's degree preferred.
1-3 years of banking or related experience required.
Licenses and Certifications:
The SAFE Act requirements include registration as a Registered Mortgage Loan Originator.
