Job Description:

The Mortgage Loan Specialist is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans and delivering exceptional customer service throughout the lending process. This role focuses on developing referral networks, building strong client relationships, and helping borrowers identify financing solutions that align with their financial goals.

Responsibilities:

• Generate new mortgage lending opportunities by securing referrals, participating in networking activities, and building relationships with clients, real estate professionals, builders, title companies, and other industry contacts.
• Review and assess borrowers’ financial information, credit history, and home financing objectives during consultations.
• Present mortgage product options and explain available loan programs, pricing structures, and qualification requirements in detail.
• Establish and maintain long-term referral networks and business relationships to support consistent loan origination activity.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of mortgage lending products, regulations, processes, and compliance requirements.
• Deliver high-quality customer service throughout the entire mortgage application and approval process.
• Participate in professional development and training to stay current with industry regulations and lending practices.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including BSA, AML, and internal company policies.
• Contribute to a strong sales- and service-driven culture within the organization.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of mortgage lending experience preferred, including at least 1 year in real estate or sales.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field may substitute for experience requirements.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage lending regulations, underwriting standards, and loan programs.
• Familiarity with FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and residential mortgage lending products.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently with professionalism and accountability.
