As an integral part of the branch team, the Business Banking Officer is committed to attracting new clients, strengthening existing relationships, and assisting clients in developing trust to achieve their financial goals. Key Responsibilities:

  • Listen actively for indications of financial wellness challenges during client discussions and offer personalized recommendations to help clients address these challenges and enhance their financial well-being.
  • Upholds a continuous pattern of achieving personal activity, behavior, and outcome targets.
  • Initiating personal and business banking partnerships, incorporating consumer checking services, small business financial solutions, diverse deposit offerings, home equity loans, unsecured credit options, and certificate of deposit investments.
  • Forming resilient collaborations with branch peers and line of business associates to prioritize client acquisition and deepen relationships with current clients, expertly overseeing internal and external influencers.
  • Following operational, risk, security, and audit protocols and policies, including proper documentation of client interactions.
  • An important aspect of the role is supporting branch operations through assisting with customer transactions at the Teller line.
  • Join in and periodically play a role in morning briefs and end-of-day overviews.
  • Tasked with executing other designated responsibilities; duties, obligations, and/or activities might vary, with new ones potentially assigned without prior communication.
  • Abides by all KeyBank policies and procedures, including but not limited to, maintaining professionalism, practicing ethical business conduct, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key's clients and the organization.

Education Qualifications:

  • Business familiarity equal to a high school diploma or GED is a prerequisite
  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience in cultivating relationships with current and prospective customers, achieving sales objectives, and building referral channels is a significant prerequisite. The value of sales experience over financial services familiarity is highlighted for this role at KeyBank.   • Essential grasp of sales and service techniques for engaging with customers, involving tele-consulting, external outreach, prospect discovery, and network building. (mandatory)
  • Capable of interacting smoothly with small business customers, overcoming obstacles, and engaging in purposeful discussions to gather necessary information and assist them
  • Verified track record in influencing business partners and utilizing key networks of influence is crucial for this role, as successful collaboration with Key Investment Services, Mortgage, and Business Banking sales teams is essential. (mandatory)
  • Necessary qualifications involve a practical understanding of PCs, especially in MS Windows and Office software such as Word and Excel
  • Crucial requirements consist of a sound understanding of digital technology (mobile devices, applications, and online browsing) and the ability to educate clients on the digital tools and functionalities within Key

  • Shows proficiency in understanding the client's accounts and banking relationships and uses sound judgment in customer interactions and transactional processes
  • Established proficiency in meeting sales and referral goals through scheduled appointments and quality conversations that result in suggestions to support clients' financial wellness objectives, leveraging system-generated lead lists, walk-ins, and professional relationships
  • Consistently demonstrating a strong dedication to work and maintaining a high level of integrity
  • Evident prowess in time management, ensuring tasks are completed promptly
