Job Description:

Banking Consultants at UMB are experts in building client relationships and recommending financial products and services. Banking Consultants leverage their product knowledge and client interactions to identify needs and provide financial solutions that help clients maintain financial stability while simplifying banking.

As a Banking Consultant, you will receive comprehensive training on UMB’s product offerings, sales strategies, and financial solutions. Collaboration with UMB leaders provides mentorship and guidance to enhance your skills.

Deciding on the activities to engage in during your day:

• Adopting personalized questioning strategies to convert transactions, account maintenance duties, and routine service requests into cross-selling opportunities that strengthen client connections
• Proactively pursuing sales leads by contacting prospects, visiting businesses to present workplace banking solutions, and building referral networks
• Effectively balancing competing priorities while achieving daily key performance metrics
• Following standard learning practices such as transaction processing, cash drawer management, and completion of bank documentation in compliance with industry and legal standards

• You hold a high school diploma or equivalent
• You have at least one year of retail or customer-facing experience, engaging clients and providing product recommendations that contribute to sales, or possess comparable experience
• You have reliable transportation and flexibility to work branch hours, including weekends and some evenings
• You can acquire NMLS registration within 90 days of meeting eligibility requirements
