The role requires individuals to perform the duties of a Home Loan Officer, which include guiding clients through the loan application process and offering recommendations on suitable mortgage products. The primary task of the Home Loan Officer is to initiate new mortgage transactions through various channels while adhering to internal and external regulations. Core responsibilities of this role encompass receiving, assessing, and organizing loan requests, essential documentation, and shepherding applicants through the loan process. The Home Loan Officer is vested in establishing transparent criteria, delivering updates, and ensuring adherence to bank credit protocols and directives.

Essential Functions and Duties:

• Initiate the process of securing mortgage funds and expand client base by obtaining referrals, building networks, and forming alliances with partners like banks, real estate agents, developers, and financial advisors.
• Develop partnerships with assigned banking locations and provide training to staff about identifying mortgage referral prospects.
• Generate revenue from both self-driven endeavors and leads passed on by banks.
• Foster strong communication channels with mortgage operations departments and leadership.
• Project professionalism and ensure the security of customer details.
• Examine the financial status of customers and propose suitable mortgage products that cater to their specific requirements.
• Supervise the progression of the loan from the point of application until the closing phase.
• Stay current on lending guidelines and guarantee alignment with all policies.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This job does not entail supervising tasks.

Qualifications:

• Education: Applicants must have completed high school; those with an advanced degree will be given priority.
• Knowledge: Understanding mortgage loan regulations, assessing creditworthiness, and adhering to underwriting criteria is necessary; NMLS certification is a prerequisite.
• Experience: Must possess 3–5 years of experience in mortgage banking, with a focus on FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, and VA schemes.

Skills and Abilities:

• Proficiency in communication and building relationships is crucial in various contexts.
• Examination of financial information with a focus on interview proficiency.
• Competence in utilizing business software and technology.

Physical Requirements:

• Consistent verbal exchange and engaged listening.
• Continual and repetitive movement of hands and fingers.
• Competence in evaluating documents and utilizing office devices.
• An operational driver's license is mandatory for this outside sales position.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
