Job Description:

The Mortgage Specialist is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans while delivering high-quality customer service throughout the entire lending process. This role focuses on building referral networks, maintaining strong client relationships, and helping borrowers identify suitable financing solutions aligned with their financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive mortgage lending growth by generating referrals, networking, and building relationships with clients, real estate professionals, builders, title companies, and other industry partners.
• Meet with prospective borrowers to review financial information, credit history, and home financing objectives.
• Recommend mortgage products and clearly explain loan programs, pricing options, and qualification requirements.
• Develop and maintain long-term referral partnerships to support consistent loan origination activity.
• Maintain strong knowledge of mortgage products, lending guidelines, processes, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service throughout the mortgage application and approval process.
• Participate in training programs and stay updated on industry regulations and lending practices.
• Ensure compliance with BSA, AML, and all applicable federal, state, and company policies.
• Promote a strong sales- and service-oriented culture that supports organizational goals.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of mortgage lending experience preferred, including at least 1 year in real estate or sales.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field may substitute for experience.
• Strong knowledge of mortgage lending regulations, underwriting standards, and loan programs.
• Familiarity with FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and other residential mortgage products.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently with professionalism and accountability.
