The position involves serving as a Mortgage Consultant, responsible for facilitating the loan application process and advising clients on mortgage options. The Mortgage Consultant bears the responsibility of creating fresh mortgage opportunities from both internal and external sources. This position involves receiving and processing loan applications, evaluating applicant details, gathering necessary paperwork, and supporting clients throughout the loan application journey. The Consultant establishes transparent guidelines, offers regular progress reports, and guarantees adherence to bank credit regulations and standards.

Essential Functions and Duties:

• Create home loan agreements and cultivate clientele via recommendations, connections, and collaborations with banking centers, real estate agents, constructors, and finance experts.
• Achieve the required minimum level of production:
• Monthly: 5 units or $1.0 million in loan volume
• 90-day average: 15 units or $3.0 million in loan volume
• Foster connections with designated bank branches and offer guidance to employees regarding potential mortgage referrals.
• Cultivate business through both individual initiatives and recommendations from financial institutions.
• Keep open lines of communication with mortgage operations teams and supervisors to ensure effective interaction.
• Maintain a professional appearance and safeguard customer data.
• Evaluate the financial requirements of clients and suggest appropriate mortgage options that align with their needs.
• Oversee the loan procedure from the initial application stage to finalizing the closing arrangements.
• Stay informed about lending rules and ensure strict adherence to all regulations and policies.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role does not involve overseeing or supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications:

• Education: A high school diploma is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with mortgage lending guidelines, credit evaluation, and underwriting standards is essential; NMLS certification is mandatory.
• Experience: 3–5 years of background in mortgage banking, encompassing FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, and VA initiatives.

Skills and Abilities:

• Effective communication and the ability to foster positive relationship-building connections.
• Proficiency in evaluating financial data and honing interview techniques.
• Mastery of computer systems and various tools for business operations.

Physical Requirements:

• Regular spoken interaction and attentive hearing.
• Persistent utilization of hands and fingers for data entry and tasks.
• Proficiency in examining paperwork and utilizing standard office machinery.
• A valid driver's license is a necessary requirement for this outside sales role.
• Capability to stand, move around, sit for prolonged durations, and occasionally handle objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
