Job Summary:

The Banking Specialist provides personalized financial services to clients by assisting with daily banking needs, managing account operations, and recommending suitable products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

• Establish a consistent workflow for SBA business growth, including:
• Planning and tracking phone conversations
• Client retention outreach
• New client prospecting
• Outbound calls to prospects and clients
• Participation in networking events
• Maintain and strengthen a Center of Influence (COI) network of key community and business leaders to generate referrals
• Oversee sales efforts, assess credit profiles, structure loans, prepare and submit SBA loan applications, conduct client interviews, and evaluate personal attributes
• Develop and foster new business relationships to support growth

Credit Acumen:

• Demonstrates expertise in business credit management, including:
• Creating appropriate terms and offerings aligned with business needs, asset longevity, and growth strategies
• Reviewing financial statements and tax records to assess creditworthiness and risk
• Determining short- and long-term credit requirements based on business sales cycles and growth plans
• Educating clients on bank loan standards, SBA programs, and applicable regulatory guidelines
• Coordinating with attorneys, loan closers, and internal teams to ensure timely loan closing and funding
• Balancing business objectives with client needs while managing risk
• Upholding Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct and ethical standards
• Mentoring junior SBA lenders in their roles
• Following regulatory guidelines including BSA, AML, and OFAC standards
• Processing loan applications and gathering applicant information while adhering to fair lending and ethical sales practices
• Resolving customer concerns promptly and escalating issues when necessary

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• College degree in a finance-related field preferred
• Five or more years of direct experience in SBA lending is desirable
• At least 10 years of experience in business development or financial services
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency in desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office Suite
