Job Overview:

The Mortgage Sales Consultant is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans while delivering excellent customer service throughout the lending journey. This role focuses on building referral networks, strengthening client relationships, and helping borrowers identify suitable financing solutions aligned with their financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate mortgage lending opportunities through referrals, networking, and relationship building with clients, real estate professionals, builders, title companies, and other industry partners.
• Meet with prospective borrowers to evaluate financial profiles, credit history, and home financing objectives.
• Recommend mortgage products and clearly explain loan programs, pricing options, and lending requirements.
• Develop and maintain long-term referral relationships to ensure consistent loan origination activity.
• Maintain strong knowledge of mortgage lending products, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide high-quality customer service throughout the mortgage application and approval process.
• Participate in ongoing training and stay current on industry regulations and lending practices.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and internal policies, including BSA, AML, and lending regulations.
• Support a strong sales-driven culture focused on growth and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of mortgage lending experience preferred, including at least 1 year in real estate or sales.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field may substitute for experience.
• Strong understanding of mortgage lending guidelines, underwriting standards, and loan programs.
• Familiarity with FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and residential mortgage products.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently with professionalism and accountability.
