Job Description:

At Regions, the Personal Banking Associate is tasked with delivering exceptional customer service, both in face-to-face interactions and over the phone, and aiding in enhancing the financial wellness of customers. The core responsibility of this role is to establish significant personal relationships with customers during transaction processing, identify opportunities for Regions to meet customer needs, and assist in resolving a range of customer service inquiries. The position provides an exciting opening for candidates with previous teller experience, basic banking knowledge, or exposure to retail sales who are interested in commencing a career with potential for growth, improvement, and upward mobility.

The primary goal of Regions is to enhance the well-being of its customers and communities. Key requirements for this role include effective communication skills and the ability to deliver personalized customer service.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensures a smooth and efficient customer service interaction at the cash register by effectively assisting customers with their transactional requirements, such as deposits, withdrawals, and payments
  • Assisting customers with inquiries concerning products and services and completing routine service requests such as issuing new or replacement cards, updating information, resetting PINs, reordering checks, and resolving minor problems
  • Develops strong connections with clients, ensuring awareness of their relationship with the financial organization
  • Shows customers how to utilize standard consumer products and digital resources such as mobile applications, online platforms, and ATM facilities, to enable smoother banking experiences
  • Works alongside colleagues to provide assistance with basic duties, improving the resolution of customer issues
  • Engaging in outbound calls to customers and leads based on provided lists to enlighten individuals about emerging technologies and provide assistance in meeting their financial needs
  • When customers reveal complex financial goals, they are directed to an internal team known for their specialized knowledge
  • Complies with bank protocols, guidelines, and relevant laws, completing tasks as instructed by the Branch Manager; fosters a culture of sound banking practices within the branch team by overseeing, identifying, and communicating operational risks
  • Attains branch objectives and goals by recognizing customer needs and providing suitable guidance and perspective on Regions' solutions

This role involves documenting hours worked in excess of 40 per week and is eligible for overtime remuneration as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act.

This position offers eligibility for bonuses.

Requirements:

  • Possessing a high school diploma or GED certification is valuable in various professional settings
  • Capability to work on Saturdays when the job calls for it
  • Competence in handling cash and facilitating cash-based transactions
  • Capability to interact effectively through direct communication, phone calls, and digital means
  • Proficient in the regular use of a computer, including typing and long periods of screen concentration
  • Skill to walk and stand for prolonged periods without experiencing fatigue
  • Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds

Preferences:

  • A year of experience in banking, cash handling, or interacting with customers is required

Skills and Competencies:

  • Manifesting the ability to adhere to stipulated policies, guidelines, and protocols
  • Proficient in helping customers navigate through digital banking offerings
  • The ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at the same time is essential
  • Proficiency in overseeing substantial cash funds
  • Focusing intently on the customer experience and adeptly building strong customer relationships are fundamental capabilities
