Senior Float Banker

Job Summary:

The responsibilities of a Senior Float Banker include offering personalized financial solutions to clients by assisting them with their everyday banking needs, managing and operating accounts, and suggesting appropriate products and services.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Development:

• Promptly institute a consistent pace for SBA business development in the market, encompassing diverse elements like:
• Creating call plans and tracking follow-up activities
• Client retention calls
• New client prospecting
• Making outbound calls to connect with prospects or clients
• Networking events
• Develop and nurture a robust COI foundation of community and business luminaries to increase the flow of referrals
• Overseeing sales functions, evaluating credit, structuring loans appropriately, preparing and submitting SBA loan applications, conducting client interviews, and assessing personal qualities
• Establish unique ties and forge fresh alliances to grow your business connections

Credit Acumen:

• Illustrates a full understanding of financial resources available to businesses, including:
• Structuring customized terms and offerings based on the business needs, asset lifespan, and strategies for expansion
• Interpreting financial statements and tax returns helps in the evaluation of creditworthiness and risk for both personal and business purposes
• Identifying short- and long-range credit needs by examining business sales cycles and growth strategies
• Advises potential customers on bank underwriting standards, Small Business Administration programs, and applicable government rules
• Partners with attorneys, loan closing agents, and internal team members to expedite the loan closing and funding process
• Harmonizes business priorities with customer expectations while overseeing the mitigation of risk factors
• Abides by the ethical guidelines outlined by Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct
• Offers mentoring services to junior SBA lenders to enhance their skills and knowledge
• Ensures adherence to the bank's policies and procedures, with a focus on meeting BSA, AML, and OFAC requirements
• Evaluates loan applications and gathers necessary applicant information while upholding fair lending standards and ethical sales practices
• Addresses customer complaints efficiently and professionally, escalating unresolved matters appropriately

Education and Experience:

• Meeting the educational standard of a high school diploma or equivalent is obligatory
• Those with a financial-related college degree are prioritized
• A minimum of five years of directly related experience in SBA lending is the preferred background for applicants
• The ideal candidate will have accumulated a minimum of 10 years in business development and/or financial services
• Demonstrates advanced communication skills in writing, speech, and interpersonal interactions
• Mastery in handling desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office Suite
