Job Description:

The Credit Risk Manager supports the commercial loan and deposit portfolio for one or more Relationship Managers (Commercial with some CRE exposure). This role focuses on high-quality underwriting, effective portfolio management, and delivering strong client service while adhering to bank policies and risk standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Study financial documents to gauge the creditworthiness of applicants for new, renewed, or existing loan connections.
• Formulate detailed credit memorandums with borrower assessments, risk evaluations, and suggested next steps.
• Utilize research on industries and markets to guide lending choices effectively.
• Formulate loan packages that meet client expectations while also supporting the objectives of the organization.
• Guide the progression of loan requests during the credit approval process.
• Manage loan portfolios by overseeing covenant compliance, conducting annual evaluations, and handling any exceptions that may arise.
• Revise and calibrate risk levels by incorporating the latest financial and market information.
• Ensure that internal policies are being followed in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Assist in resolving documentation or compliance issues by working with Relationship Managers, credit teams, and operations.
• Be available to support in client meetings and presentations as required.
• Maintain healthy internal and external collaborations with key stakeholders like attorneys, assessors, and builders.
• Aid in minimizing the occurrence of overdue loans and implementing effective risk management strategies in the portfolio.
• Take advantage of ongoing training initiatives to enhance expertise.
• Stay in accordance with regulatory mandates like BSA, AML, CIP, and OFAC.
• Take on extra responsibilities as allocated by superiors.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
• The job requires a proven track record of 4-6 years in commercial banking, credit analysis, or business banking.
• Applicants must demonstrate at least two years of experience in portfolio management and underwriting, specifically catering to middle market clients.
• Solid understanding of loan structuring principles and documentation requirements.
• Grasp of accounting concepts and lending guidelines.
• Awareness of the laws and regulations that pertain to lending at both federal and state levels.

• Having exceptional organizational skills and analytical prowess, paying close attention to details.
• Fluency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Superior interpersonal and communication competencies.
• Proficient in multitasking and maintaining effectiveness when under pressure.

• Maintaining a professional demeanor and remaining composed under pressure.

Work Environment:

• There may be a need for prolonged sitting or standing for extended durations.
• Continuous utilization of computers and analysis of detailed financial documents.
