The Loan Consultant position emphasizes delivering exceptional customer service to every client. Responsibilities include leveraging internal and external referral channels to grow mortgage loan business and establishing and nurturing strong community relationships.

Position Summary

As a Mortgage Loan Consultant, you will be responsible for cultivating and managing client relationships, identifying financial needs, and recommending appropriate banking products and services. This role combines customer support, sales techniques, and financial guidance to provide an outstanding customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develops and expands internal and external referral pipelines to drive mortgage business growth.
• Provides consultative sales support by recommending mortgage loan options and other financial products.
• Delivers superior customer service from loan approval through closing, collaborating with loan origination sources to ensure all required information is complete for underwriting.
• Maintains and strengthens ongoing client relationships.
• Assists clients in accurately completing and submitting loan applications.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One or more years of mortgage loan origination experience, preferably within a banking environment.
• Active NMLS license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Established pipeline and book of business.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of mortgage loan products including conventional, FHA/VA, construction lending, and portfolio programs.
• Understanding of mortgage procedures, documentation, and underwriting guidelines.
• Proven ability to identify cross-selling opportunities for financial products and services.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with PC and internet-based applications.
