Working within a TD Store location, the Cash Handling Officer holds a critical position in delivering exceptional customer service by processing daily banking transactions accurately and efficiently. Furthermore, they play an essential role in informing customers about TD's product offerings and facilitating referrals to expert colleagues for specialized solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Consistently enacting TD's brand commitment to customers by demonstrating the necessary behaviors to provide customers with a remarkable experience while in the store
• Ensuring smooth customer transactions by efficiently processing tasks like deposits, withdrawals, loan repayments, and safe deposit box services
• Handles cash transactions accurately by verifying checks, authenticating currency, balancing cash drawer, and completing night deposits with attention to detail
• Deals with customer issues and questions using standard protocols, escalating to higher authorities when necessary
• Shows leadership in the lobby by organizing customer traffic, welcoming customers with warmth, and giving appropriate guidance
• Appreciates the diverse timing and communication channels favored by customers for banking transactions, providing information on tailored self-service and digital solutions
• Acts on behalf of customers by engaging in needs-focused dialogues, providing financial and digital options, and facilitating connections with appropriate partners
• Proficient in decision-making skills and providing timely resolutions, escalating difficult problems to management for further intervention
• Follows company guidelines and regulatory standards, such as the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act, when carrying out operational activities to minimize risks and protect customers
• Ensures customer identities are verified by following the required customer authentication policies and procedures
• Inspects and balances cash registers, ATMs, and TCDs/TCRs in line with established procedures
• Acts in accordance with the operational procedures and guidelines regarding safe deposit boxes
• The person is in charge of cash drawers and vaults, responsible for making sure that cash limits are adhered to and that cash is securely stored

Qualifications:

• Attaining a high school diploma or a GED certificate signifies successful completion of basic education requirements
• Ideally, candidates should possess six months of experience in a job-related setting, although an equivalent level of competence can be demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience
• Expected to be available for work during operating hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays if scheduled
• Possession of demonstrated customer service skills is a plus
• Strong organizational skills
• Detail-oriented
• Ability to excel in a high-speed and ever-changing work environment
• Adept at communication through concise, lucid, and unwavering means
