The Mortgage Specialist focuses on expanding the bank's mortgage loan business through relationship building with realtors, builders, title companies, and other community partners.

Critical Duties:

Essential tasks and responsibilities crucial to the overall success of the role:

• Kicks off the submission process for mortgage loan applications.
• Negotiates terms and financial charges for borrowing.
• Collects key client information and provides expert guidance on product options.
• Ensures compliance with mortgage regulations by providing all required disclosures and notifications to customers.
• Maintains interest rate lock-ins through agreements with financiers.
• Manages the pipeline to minimize the bank's exposure to interest rate fluctuations.
• Ensures all departmental documents and activities comply with laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, including mandatory compliance training.
• Performs miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills:

• Ability to comprehend and analyze written materials, including operational guides, official letters, and legal statutes.
• Competence in analyzing, interpreting, and understanding financial reports and legal documents.
• Skill in preparing routine reports and formal business correspondence.
• Capability to produce written responses to customer complaints, regulatory agencies, or professional colleagues.
• Effective communication skills in one-on-one or small group settings with customers, clients, and colleagues.

Education And/Or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.

Computer Skills:

• Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• NMLS license required.
