Within a Financial Center setting, the Banking Consultant role is centered on deploying a consultative sales process to proactively identify and cater to the financial needs of clients or potential prospects. The principal task of a Personal Banker I is to acquire new clients and deepen existing customer relationships through a range of endeavors, including but not limited to leading in the lobby, engaging in aisle interactions, and conducting virtual consultations. In addition, this position involves carrying out teller transactions and collaborating within the platform staff.

Major functions and required tasks:

• Engage in the consultative sales process and carry out a detailed review of the customer's financial needs to establish a comprehensive customer portrait and identify current and anticipated financial requirements.
• Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of retail consumer and small business offerings to propose fitting solutions that reflect our value proposition.
• Utilize CAMP along with other authorized marketing tools to reach out to customers in a proactive manner and schedule appointments for regular financial reviews.
• The core focus lies in cross-promoting to the current customer base and getting involved in external sales activities such as on-site Membership Advantage presentations, making sales visits to businesses, attending community events related to financial literacy, etc. as per the directions given.
• Forge strong relationships with assigned Business Partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, and Investment) to ensure seamless referrals for clients seeking holistic financial solutions.
• Consistently meeting or surpassing customer service standards and individual/team output goals to improve revenue growth year after year, as reflected in the Financial Center profit and loss statement.
• Give recommendations to CSRs on how to streamline the sales and referral process.
• Improve customer experience by ensuring interactions are friendly and helpful while upholding a professional demeanor.
• Act with confidence by answering customer questions and owning customer issues.
• Promote a culture of trust and reliability through the careful handling of sensitive business information.
• Abide by the rules specified in the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other relevant policies, practicing ethical behavior consistently.
• Adhere to the accepted policies and protocols while commencing/dealing with the full scope of Retail merchandise.
• Participate in the consumer loan and credit card processes, overseeing the sourcing of loans from the initial application to the closing phase.
• Comply with the Financial Center Manager's directions for the commencement and conclusion of activities at the Financial Center or Bank Mart.
• Stay current on the procedures established in the retail industry to deter fraudulent activity and mitigate unnecessary risks.

The required threshold of knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• The debate over the value of a college degree versus work experience featuring transferrable skills, or a combination thereof, is a recurring theme in career development discussions.
• Having a background in the financial industry is desirable.
• Demonstrated proficiency in creating a comfortable environment for engaging in sales activities intended to acquire new customers in household and small business sectors, as well as cross-selling to current clientele.
• Proficient understanding of advanced math functions is required to conduct in-depth analysis of credit and financial data.
• Showing Fifth Third Bank in a professional light through appearance and communication is a key requirement.
• Displayed capability in developing a working comprehension of Retail policies and procedures to exercise sound judgment in decision-making.

Working Conditions:

• Normal office environment.
• Extending the period of viewing computer monitors.
• The program mandates the capability to travel within the affiliate for training and adaptability in scheduling.
