Job Description:Mortgage Staff Supervisor

Leading a team of Mortgage Loan Originators, the Mortgage Staff Supervisor is responsible for achieving sales targets and upholding operational excellence. This position focuses on talent development, performance management, customer rapport, and compliance with mortgage regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Guide and manage the daily tasks of a small group of Mortgage Loan Originators.
• Obtain the essential paperwork in a timely fashion from the appropriate channels for processing, underwriting, and finalizing transactions.
• Attain the loan volume origination objectives established annually by senior management.
• Cultivate and manage referral source partnerships with real estate professionals, contractors, and other relevant entities to ensure a consistent influx of loan applications.
• Participate actively in local and state trade organizations for mortgage lenders, realtors, and building industry professionals.
• Stay well-informed about the mortgage industry's intricacies and prevailing matters.
• Facilitate strategic collaborations between U.S. Bank Home Mortgage and other business lines to enhance customer relationships and drive the acquisition of more products.
• Select, engage in interviews with, and provide orientation for new additions to the workforce.

Basic Qualifications:

• Securing a high school diploma or its equivalent is a standard educational credential
• Demonstrated proficiency in mortgage sales for a minimum of two years

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Exhibited skill in creating new business opportunities and adeptly handling relationship management
• In-depth knowledge of sales tactics and approaches
• Broad understanding of mortgage offerings, operations, and the present market trends
• Understanding the pricing and underwriting guidelines of different mortgage insurance providers is fundamental
• Familiarity with the underwriting requirements for FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, local bonding programs, and private investors is essential, whether learned through direct experience in the industry or from prior employment with a real estate brokerage
• Well-informed about legal obligations that span from local ordinances to national laws, encompassing zoning regulations, Truth-in-Lending stipulations, RESPA guidelines, and energy audit mandates
• Exceptional proficiency in customer service and building lasting relationships with clients
• Highlighting a precise attention to detail attitude and the skill to scrutinize financial data effectively
• Competent in communicating effectively through interpersonal, verbal, and written means
• Employees need to demonstrate the ability to meet the necessary criteria for performing duties outside of their primary place of business
• Having a solid referral base in the designated territory is preferred
• Verifiable outcomes in mortgage loan origination throughout a 2-year timeframe
