Job Summary:Loan Portfolio Manager

Working closely with the Group Portfolio Manager or Market Leadership, the Portfolio Manager supports Relationship Managers in achieving sales objectives by expanding, managing, and monitoring loan portfolios to ensure strong performance outcomes. The role involves evaluating risk through portfolio analysis and structure oversight, while also contributing to profitability through detailed financial and credit assessments. Additionally, the PM collaborates with Relationship Managers to strengthen client relationships and drive business growth.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in finance or a related field is preferred
• Prior experience in banking, especially in lending, loan operations, or credit analysis, is required

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in both individual and team settings
• Effective time management with the ability to prioritize tasks independently
• Strong organizational and planning abilities
• High level of integrity with strict confidentiality in handling sensitive information
• Knowledge of banking policies, regulations, and compliance requirements relevant to the role, including completion of mandatory training and adherence to internal controls; ability to report any compliance breaches or suspicious activities promptly

Responsibilities:

• Review pre- and post-closing documentation and ensure all required credit files are accurately submitted to the bank’s imaging system
• Prepare and analyze reports to ensure compliance with FirstBank credit monitoring and policy standards
• Evaluate credit requests and perform detailed financial statement analysis using standard bank tools
• Monitor loan portfolios including commitments, balances, and classifications across clients, industries, and loan types
• Partner with Market Leadership, Regional Presidents, and Credit Officers to support Relationship Managers in portfolio growth and asset quality management
• Track delinquent accounts and upcoming loan maturities, escalating issues to Relationship Managers as needed
• Analyze financial metrics to ensure accurate loan grading and risk rating within the commercial portfolio
• Apply financial modeling techniques to assess borrower performance and risk exposure
• Research industry trends, economic conditions, and regulatory updates that may impact borrower repayment capacity
• Assist in preparing pitch materials and presentations for prospective clients
• Participate in sales processes alongside Relationship Managers and RM Associates as part of a collaborative team
• Represent the PM/RM team in meetings and client interactions when required
• Serve as a secondary point of contact for commercial clients when needed
• Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality customer service aligned with FirstBank standards
• Follow all regulatory requirements, internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management policies
• Provide independent credit evaluation and challenge loan decisions based on policy compliance and risk assessment
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of credit documentation and analysis
• Maintain strong knowledge of credit policies and their application
• Maintain regular attendance and reliability
• Perform additional duties as assigned
