A Commercial Banker delivers tailored financial solutions to business clients by managing commercial relationships, supporting daily banking needs, overseeing account establishment and maintenance, and recommending appropriate credit and treasury products to support business growth.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Development:

• Swiftly establish and maintain a consistent SBA and commercial business development cadence within the marketplace, including but not limited to:
• Organizing client calls and monitoring outcomes and follow-up actions
• Conducting client retention and relationship management calls
• Prospecting new commercial and SBA clients
• Utilizing outbound telephone outreach to engage prospects and existing clients
• Participating in networking and community events
• Cultivate and expand a strong Center of Influence (COI) network of community and business leaders to drive referral generation
• Oversee sales activities, evaluate credit, structure loans appropriately, prepare and submit SBA loan applications, conduct client interviews, and assess borrower character and financial strength
• Source and develop new relationships to drive commercial portfolio growth

Credit Acumen:

• Demonstrates strong proficiency in commercial credit facilities and lending solutions, including:
• Structuring customized loan terms and products aligned with business needs, asset life cycles, and growth strategies
• Analyzing business and personal financial statements and tax returns to evaluate creditworthiness and risk
• Identifying short- and long-term credit needs based on business sales cycles and expansion plans
• Educating clients on bank credit policies, SBA programs, and applicable governmental regulations
• Coordinating with attorneys, loan closing specialists, and internal partners to ensure timely loan closing and funding
• Balancing business objectives with customer needs while proactively managing risk exposure
• Adhering to the ethical and professional standards outlined in Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct
• Providing guidance and mentorship to entry-level SBA lenders
• Ensuring compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements, including BSA, AML, and OFAC
• Reviewing loan requests and collecting required applicant information while maintaining fair lending and ethical sales practices
• Resolving customer concerns promptly and professionally, escalating issues when appropriate

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• College degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field preferred
• Minimum of five years of experience in commercial or SBA lending preferred
• At least ten years of experience in business development and/or financial services
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with desktop computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office Suite applications
