Role Overview:

Commercial Sales Managers are tasked with the vital function of nurturing and overseeing the interactions between the organization and its commercial clientele to ensure that both parties derive maximum value from their business engagements

The responsibilities of the C & I Commercial Sales Managerinclude acting as a dependable business consultant to clients and offering a comprehensive selection of banking services to support their financial goals. Another crucial aspect of the role involves building a network of referral sources and influential connections by consistently reaching out to create new business opportunities. Additionally, the manager is responsible for overseeing a portfolio of relationships, ensuring exceptional client satisfaction, and managing risk, credit quality, and servicing in line with Northwest's standards with the support of a portfolio management team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build upon and extend pre-existing commercial banking affiliations to maximize opportunities for development
  • Successfully engaging and forming fruitful associations with stakeholders in the Northwest area
  • Keep in touch with different product partners frequently to explore cross-selling possibilities and referrals, aiming to broaden and strengthen client connections
  • Reach and outperform budget expectations allocated for individuals and regions
  • Participate proactively in both community and professional networking gatherings
  • Build strong, impactful relationships with Centers of Influence
  • Maintain and update a prospect inventory, alongside a fixed schedule for engaging and meeting with potential customers, current clientele, and key associates
  • Spur current clients to regularly provide referrals for diverse products and services and advocate for clients and their employees to sustain their personal banking relationships with Northwest
  • Handle a portfolio of loans designed for businesses, encompassing both creditworthy and non-creditworthy borrowers
  • Deliver loan recommendations and presentations to credit experts, team leaders, and senior managers as requested
  • Join forces with credit and portfolio management to make sure that annual reviews and renewals of credit lines are completed promptly
  • Provide appropriate treasury management and related commercial services to noncredit customers, ensuring that their risk assessments are adequate
  • Follow up on unpaid invoices for collection
  • Assess client performance and manage risk by consistently analyzing financial statements and related credit materials in collaboration with Portfolio Management
  • Execute loan closures in cooperation with Portfolio Management department
  • Crosscheck to confirm that each credit report is equipped with current financial statements, information from agencies, and any other essential documents. Coordinate with Portfolio Management to guarantee adherence to Northwest's policies, procedures, and compliance with both Federal and State regulations
  • Attend regular training sessions covering sales methodologies, product details, and credit procedures
  • Comply with the guidelines established by Northwest and regulatory bodies at the federal and state levels
  • Learn to effectively utilize Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and department-specific software to optimize technology tools and enhance operational efficiency. Minimum Requirements:

  • The position necessitates a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Marketing
  • Skilled in cultivating and maintaining client partnerships for a duration of 5-6 years
  • Establishing a reputation for delivering high sales performance consistently for 5-6 years
  • Banking experience
  • Extensive expertise and awareness of commercial and industrial loan provision, loan maintenance, and different credit and non-credit selections.
  • Skillful negotiations can impact the terms and pricing of a loan significantly.
  • Understanding risk management entails being equipped with the requisite knowledge to recognize hazards and devise plans to minimize their impact.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication capabilities.
  • Skill in multitasking and prioritizing duties with precision.
