Position Overview:Corporate Auditor

The Corporate Auditor plays a key role in executing and documenting risk-based audit activities, including complex assignments. This position assesses control gaps, evaluates audit outcomes, and delivers actionable improvement recommendations. The role may also oversee portions of smaller audits or specialized reviews.

Core Responsibilities:

• Engage with stakeholders to understand processes and document workflows through narratives, diagrams, and process maps.
• Review operational documentation to evaluate control design, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Develop and execute audit tests using data analysis methods.
• Identify control deficiencies, potential risks, and root causes.
• Guide and mentor junior auditors to support their development.
• Present audit findings and improvement recommendations to Management and the Engagement Manager.
• Enhance audit capabilities through improved risk assessment and project management skills.
• Strengthen knowledge of business operations, policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory standards.
• Prepare accurate audit documentation in alignment with Truist Audit Services requirements.
• Work independently with minimal supervision while meeting deadlines.
• Apply feedback to continually improve audit quality and performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field, or comparable experience.
• 4–6 years of experience in auditing, banking, or related sectors.
• Basic understanding of technology functions, cybersecurity principles, IT infrastructure, and service operations.
• Knowledge of IT General Controls (ITGC), IT Application Controls (ITAC), and the SDLC process.
• Growing familiarity with frameworks such as COSO, COBIT, NIST, SOX, and PCI DSS.
• Strong analytical thinking and sound decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in audit methodologies, documentation, control assessments, and risk evaluations.
• Ability to interpret complex information and derive insights.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with varying complexity.
• Capability to work independently with limited direction.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CIA, or willingness to pursue them.
• Experience with Truist Audit Services tools or comparable audit platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology.
• Experience validating regulatory data and ensuring its accuracy, reliability, and completeness.
• Ability to build and execute test procedures for regulatory validation work.
