Job Title: Mortgage Consultant

The Mortgage Consultant is responsible for nurturing mortgage loan opportunities and fostering business relationships with real estate professionals, builders, and title companies to support the bank's growth.

Major Responsibilities: Key duties and tasks essential to this role:

• Initiates the origination of mortgage loan requests.
• Finalizes loan terms and interest rates through discussions and agreements.
• Collects important customer information and provides expert guidance on available product options.
• Ensures customers are informed about mortgage-related matters through required disclosures and notices, complying with regulations.
• Maintains secured interest rate commitments with investors.
• Manages the pipeline to protect the bank from interest rate risks.
• Ensures departmental documentation and activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures, including completing mandatory compliance training.
• Performs additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret procedural manuals, business correspondence, and regulatory documents.
• Ability to analyze and understand financial statements and legal documentation.
• Skill in preparing regular reports and official business communications.
• Competence in drafting written responses to customer concerns, regulatory bodies, or business contacts.
• Ability to communicate information clearly and engagingly in one-on-one or small group interactions with customers, clients, and colleagues.

Education And/Or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED.

Computer Skills:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

• NMLS license required.
