At Regions, the Relationship Banker is responsible for providing an exceptional customer experience, both on the cash line and on the phone, and contributing to improving the financial wellness of our customers. The purpose of this role is to create meaningful personal connections with customers while processing transactions, identify ways for Regions to meet customer needs, and assist in resolving end to end customer service inquiries. This role offers an exciting opportunity for candidates with prior teller, limited banking, or some retail sales experience who are interested in beginning a career with opportunities for growth, development, and upward mobility.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Delivers a seamless and satisfactory customer service interaction at the cash desk by effectively addressing customers' transactional requirements, such as deposits, withdrawals, and payments
• Attending to customer inquiries regarding products and services and executing basic servicing requests, such as issuing new or replacement cards, updating information, resetting PINs, reordering checks, and resolving minor issues
• Fosters connections with clients, ensuring a detailed understanding of their engagement with the banking institution
• Guides customers through the functionalities of standard consumer products and digital advancements like mobile apps, online services, and ATM capabilities, promoting more accessible and convenient banking practices
• Aids in customer problem resolution by assisting branch and team members with basic tasks
• Utilizing customer and prospect lead lists to make outbound phone calls, informing individuals about the latest technology trends, and assisting them in meeting their financial needs
• Customers are directed towards an internal team of specialists when their financial goals are particularly complex
• Adheres to bank processes and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations, fulfilling tasks designated by the Branch Manager; as a branch team participant, ensures the implementation of sound banking practices, including the management and reporting of operational risks
• Achieves branch targets and aspirations by identifying customer needs and providing suitable guidance and perspective on Regions' solutions

Monitoring and recording hours worked beyond the 40-hour weekly limit is necessary for this role, with eligibility for overtime payment under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Requirements:

• Acquiring a high school diploma or GED accreditation is advantageous for further education
• Preparedness to work on Saturdays as necessary
• Skill in overseeing currency handling and processing cash transactions
• Skill in articulating thoughts and ideas through personal, telephonic, and electronic communication channels
• Proficiency in frequent computer usage, encompassing typing and sustained focus on a monitor
• Capability of walking and standing without interruption for long durations
• Ability to lift up to twenty (20) pounds

Preferences:

• Essential criteria include at least one year of experience in banking, cash operations, or customer-facing roles

Skills and Competencies:

• Showing proficiency in following organizational guidelines, protocols, and practices
• Skillful in guiding clients through digital banking functionalities
• Balancing multiple responsibilities at once is a valuable asset in the workplace
• Skill in managing substantial cash volumes
• Placing a strong emphasis on understanding and meeting customer expectations, as well as fostering solid customer connections, is critical
