Job Description:

Provide quality, accurate, and timely customer service through the daily processing of financial transactions in a retail banking environment. As the first point of contact for many clients, the Cashier builds strong relationships by delivering excellent service, recommending appropriate bank products, and referring clients to other areas of the Bank as needed. This role supports revenue growth by developing and maintaining long-term, profitable client relationships while ensuring compliance with operational and procedural standards and maintaining proper control of cash.

Qualifications:

• The essential educational criteria for this position include a high school diploma or GED.
• Applicants with six months of experience in handling cash or working as a teller, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are strongly preferred.
• Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Competency in working with office and financial gadgets, like a 10-key calculator and coin counter.
• The DeGarmo Retail Behavioral Assessment must be satisfactorily conducted.
• It is advised to finish the assessment in 12–15 minutes and submit it before the application review for consideration.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

Operational Efficiency:

• Maintain the accuracy of a cash drawer through careful monitoring and adherence to proper cash handling practices.
• Adhere to the specified rules and guidelines for audits, security, and operational procedures.
• Facilitate customer transactions by assisting with activities such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payment transactions.
• Execute miscellaneous transactions, including bonds, municipal coupons, and money orders.
• Help with the routine balancing and upkeep of ATMs, ensuring all necessary entries are accurately processed.
• Validating the night and lobby depository deposits for accuracy.
• Aid in the proper handling of dual control vault obligations.
• Stay informed about operational changes and procedural updates to ensure consistent compliance.

Client Experience:

• Ensure that each client interaction is characterized by professionalism and positivity.
• Responsively and competently address client questions and concerns to their satisfaction.
• Assist clients in addressing specific service requirements to elevate their overall satisfaction and experience.
• Augment expertise in products and services by engaging in sales meetings, training sessions, and online learning opportunities.

Sales and Service:

• Identify moments to propose related options to clients as part of the cross-selling strategy.
• Assist in directing clients and prospects to the designated internal team members for further guidance.
• Strengthen client partnerships by promoting innovative banking products and services that add value to their overall experience.

Compliance and Risk Management:

• Abide by the bank's regulations, policies, procedures, and internal control mechanisms.
• Uphold compliance with risk management benchmarks and the ethical standards set by the First Horizon Code of Ethics.
• Execute any remaining job-related responsibilities as provided.
