A Account Opening Specialist provides personalized financial solutions by assisting customers with daily banking needs, opening and maintaining accounts, and recommending appropriate products and services.

Primary job duties and responsibilities:

Business Development:

• Efficiently establish a reliable schedule for SBA business growth in the industry, encompassing various aspects like:
• Organizing calls and monitoring outcomes
• Client retention calls
• New client prospecting
• Initiating phone calls to external contacts
• Networking events
• Sustain and amplify a diverse group of influential community and business leaders within a Center of Influence (COI) framework to facilitate referral creation
• - Accountable for sales-related activities, credit analysis, structuring loans correctly, packaging and submitting SBA loan requests, conducting client interviews, and assessing individual qualities
• Cultivate and nurture new business relationships to propel growth and success

Credit Acumen:

• Reveals a nuanced understanding of business credit facilities, with a focus on:
• Developing terms and goods that are well-suited for the business, considering asset longevity and growth plans
• Using financial data from statements and tax returns is essential in the assessment of creditworthiness and risk when considering lending to individuals and businesses
• Identifying short- and long-range credit needs by examining business sales cycles and growth strategies
• Imparts information to prospective clients on the processes banks use to evaluate loans, SBA programs, and pertinent government regulations
• Teams up with attorneys, loan closing experts, and internal staff to ensure loans are closed and funded in a timely manner
• Negotiates between business necessities and customer requests while monitoring and limiting potential risks
• Follows the ethical and professional requirements of Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct
• Acts as a trusted advisor for new SBA lenders seeking support and direction
• Follows the established rules and regulations set forth by the bank, which encompass BSA, AML, and OFAC requirements
• Screens loan applications and gathers necessary applicant details while upholding equitable lending criteria and ethical sales approaches
• Handles customer issues in a timely and courteous manner, escalating matters to the appropriate channels as needed

Education And Experience:

• Meeting the requirement for a high school diploma or its similar substitute is compulsory
• Preference is for those with a college education in a discipline related to finance
• A minimum of five years of directly related experience in SBA lending is the preferred background for applicants
• A decade or more of experience in business development and financial services is a prerequisite
• Displays strong communication skills in written, verbal, and interpersonal contexts
• Adeptness in handling desktop computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office Suite tools
