Role Overview:Loan Portfolio Manager

Taking on the responsibility of underwriting credit exposure for Wholesale Banking customers and overseeing a Middle Market or CML portfolio. This role involves regular client interaction, monitoring portfolio risks, and ensuring strict compliance with regulatory and compliance standards. A key duty is to promptly detect emerging credit issues and industry trends.

Qualifications:

Required:

• A finance-related bachelor's degree is a must-have.
• Adept in commercial credit analysis for a span of five years.
• Expertise in MS Office applications at an advanced level.
• Strong communication skills across interpersonal, written, and verbal domains.
• Displayed excellent credit assessment judgment and analytical ability.
• Unrivaled meticulousness.
• Showing competence in efficiently managing priorities and multitasking in a high-speed environment.

Preferred:

• Past experience in a related function within a corporate financial company.
• Sector-focused expertise or experience.
• Adept at utilizing Truist's operating programs such as COMPASS, MRA, Salesforce, and nCino.

Enumerated the main obligations and tasks required for the job:

• Oversee the entirety of the commercial underwriting process for potential prospects and customers, including assessment, documentation, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• Organize and verify the financial aspects of each client and prospective transaction, ensuring the correctness of property evaluations, environmental appraisals, and UCC screenings.
• Review financial statements, business blueprints, and key vulnerabilities, giving supported recommendations and financial solutions.
• Keep up-to-date expertise in client sectors and the array of credit and supplementary products from the bank to suggest suitable loan configurations.
• Confirm that underwriting activities are compliant with regulations and reflective of the bank's risk management approach.
• Oversight of the assigned portfolio involves tracking its performance, trends, and potential credit challenges, and taking timely steps to address any issues.
• Ensure the correctness of risk rating precision, conclude annual evaluations, distribute financial documentation, and carry out all required compliance and regulatory appraisals.
• Regulate amendments and exceptions within the assigned portfolio by prioritizing forward-looking, transparent, and proactive risk management.
• Coordinate with in-house product teams to build and propose credit solutions that address client needs and are compliant with the bank's pricing and risk acceptance criteria.
• Provide a contemporary and forward-looking risk perspective on designated clients and potential clients, as well as crafting risk management proposals.
• Administer a complex investment portfolio with substantial credit exposure, necessitating sound judgment, proficient problem-solving capabilities, and the capacity for autonomous decision-making.
• Advocate for a distinctive perspective to influence essential credit decisions and offer mentorship to junior colleagues as appropriate.
• Engage in and take the lead on activities or projects that contribute to the overarching Portfolio Management framework besides routine portfolio responsibilities.
• Emphasize maintaining strong operational and credit risk criteria while providing top-tier credit and underwriting evaluations.
