A Financial Services Advisor's primary goal is to help clients achieve financial security and stability by providing them with sound advice and guidance on managing their money effectively.
This role is accountable to invoke trust and build strong client relationships, determine individual investment needs and provide professional, customized advice to ensure client's financial goals are met. You will provide a superior client onboarding experience, actively reviewing client portfolios and preparing and presenting appropriate investment solutions by leveraging various tools provided by the bank. Being the first point of client contact, the Financial Services Advisor's core mandate is to provide investment recommendations based on client suitability, time frame and goals. The Financial Services Advisor has the ultimate goal of building and solidifying customer loyalty while deepening client relationships.

Acting as the gatekeeper, the Advisor must validate approvals in accordance with the regulations and guidelines established by industry oversight entities

Decision Making - Propose investment opportunities that reflect the client's suitability, time frame, and objectives
Offers wealth and investment-related support and services to BMO customers or prospects, taking into account their financial aspirations and objectives. Provides personalized wealth and investment recommendations based on individual customer needs.
Carries out customer service and sales activities in adherence to approved methods and recognizes occasions to direct clients to specific business units.
Proficiency in Cost Basis, Tax documentation, IRA (Individual Retirement Account) RMD (Required Minimum Distribution) withdrawals, and the implications of early withdrawal penalties is central to sound financial management
Verify client account details in compliance with regulatory requirements and secure all needed endorsements
Exercise influence over investment advice in accordance with the guidelines set by the BIS and applicable securities regulations
This position plays a key role in helping the business unit achieve its objectives
Knowledge and Skills:
A university degree and at least 3-5 years of financial industry experience are prerequisites for this position
Financial practitioners commonly acquire qualifications such as Series 7 and 66 licenses, or pursue a mix like Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses while also obtaining insurance licenses for life and health offerings
Meeting the background verification conditions established in U4 guidelines is crucial
BMO and FINRA are the entities responsible for overseeing ongoing educational requirements
