Job Summary:Investment Manager

The Investment Manager supports Relationship Manager sales initiatives by contributing to the expansion, development, and effective oversight of loan and investment portfolios to achieve strong performance outcomes. Under the guidance of the Group Portfolio Manager or Market Leadership, the role focuses on assessing risk through portfolio structuring and monitoring, while driving profitability through in-depth financial and credit analysis. The Investment Manager also collaborates with Relationship Managers to strengthen client relationships and support overall business growth objectives.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree in finance or a related field is preferred
• Strong experience in banking, particularly in lending, credit management, or loan operations

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, effective in both individual and team settings
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time independently and efficiently
• Excellent organizational and planning skills
• High level of integrity with strict adherence to confidentiality of sensitive information
• Strong understanding of banking regulations, internal policies, and compliance requirements, including completion of mandatory training and adherence to internal controls; ability to report policy violations or suspicious activities promptly

Responsibilities:

• Review pre- and post-closing documentation and ensure accurate submission of required credit files into the bank’s imaging system
• Prepare, review, and monitor reports to ensure compliance with FirstBank credit and risk management standards
• Analyze credit applications and perform financial statement evaluations using standardized banking tools
• Monitor loan portfolios including balances, commitments, classifications, and borrower details across industries and regions
• Collaborate with Market Leadership, Regional Presidents, and Credit Officers to support Relationship Managers in portfolio growth and asset quality management
• Track delinquent accounts and upcoming maturities, alerting Relationship Managers when action is needed
• Evaluate financial metrics to ensure accurate loan grading and risk classification within the portfolio
• Interpret financial models and analysis to assess borrower performance and credit risk
• Conduct ongoing research on market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes impacting borrower repayment ability
• Assist in preparing pitch materials and client presentations
• Participate in sales activities and work closely with Relationship Managers and teams during client engagements
• Serve as a secondary point of contact for commercial clients when required
• Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality client service aligned with FirstBank standards
• Follow all regulatory requirements, internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management policies
• Apply credit policy standards to evaluate loan applications and ensure consistent decision-making
• Ensure accuracy and timely validation of credit documentation and analysis
• Maintain strong understanding of credit policies and their application in lending decisions
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance
• Perform additional duties as assigned
