Position Overview:

The Branch Teller serves as a front-line representative of the bank, assisting customers with a wide range of routine banking needs while delivering courteous and dependable service. This position is responsible for processing transactions accurately, addressing customer account requests, maintaining positive relationships, promoting appropriate banking solutions, and supporting the overall efficiency of branch operations.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Process customers' everyday banking transactions accurately through branch teller stations and drive-through services.
• Create a welcoming customer experience by providing prompt assistance and developing positive, long-term customer relationships.
• Handle deposits, loan payments, check transactions, savings withdrawals, night deposits, and deposits received through the mail.
• Process requests for cashier's checks and assist customers with savings bond redemption services.
• Answer customer questions and resolve routine account-related concerns through in-person and telephone interactions.
• Complete additional banking transactions and required documentation, including applicable currency transaction reports.
• Recognize customer needs and identify appropriate opportunities to introduce additional banking products, services, and solutions.
• Record customer activities, recommendations, interactions, and relevant events within 360View and other applicable systems.
• Assist customers with submitting and processing consumer credit card applications.
• Support specialized customer requests, including closing accounts, ordering checks, exchanging foreign currency, preparing duplicate or customized statements, making referrals, and facilitating safe-deposit box services.
• Balance assigned cash drawers by reviewing transactions, counting and organizing currency and coins, identifying discrepancies, and promptly escalating differences to the appropriate cash-management personnel.
• Follow established banking policies, operational procedures, security standards, and dual-control requirements.
• Protect customer privacy by appropriately handling confidential personal, account, and financial information.
• Participate in training and professional development activities to strengthen banking knowledge and improve position-specific skills.
• Work collaboratively with branch team members to enhance customer satisfaction and contribute to branch performance.
• Maintain a working knowledge of banking products, services, and customer relationship management tools.
• Complete assigned duties carefully and accurately while maintaining a low level of transaction and processing errors.
• Participate in approved community outreach, charitable programs, and volunteer activities.
• Perform other duties and special assignments as directed by management.

Education and Previous Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Previous cash-handling experience or experience in a customer-facing financial environment is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Frequently use hands and fingers for fine-motor activities, including operating a computer keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment.
