Job Description:

Responsible for providing an objective assessment and management of complex Wholesale Banking loan relationships within approved lending limits. Works closely with Relationship Managers, Credit Portfolio Managers, and the Credit Portfolio Management Team Leader to deliver credit solutions through underwriting, portfolio oversight, deal structuring, and client engagement. The role includes managing assigned portfolios, ensuring accurate risk ratings, maintaining covenant compliance, identifying emerging issues, and driving timely remediation actions. Involvement in strategic initiatives aimed at improving portfolio management processes is also required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead independent underwriting for new and renewed credit facilities
• Evaluate cash flows to assess business performance, liquidity, and efficiency
• Analyze collateral strength, guarantor support, and overall credit structure
• Develop financial projections using Moody’s or Excel-based models
• Recommend appropriate credit structure, exposure limits, and policy compliance measures
• Monitor portfolio performance, risk ratings, and covenant adherence
• Identify and proactively resolve potential credit risks
• Participate in client discussions and relationship management meetings
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at improving portfolio management efficiency
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including BSA and AML standards
• Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Credit Risk, and Treasury teams
• Support mentoring and development of junior portfolio management staff

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in commercial and government contract lending required

Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience across C&I, CRE, government, retail, and service industries
• Strong expertise in commercial credit analysis and underwriting
• Advanced financial statement and cash flow analysis capabilities
• Understanding of construction lending (if applicable)
• Proficiency in Moody’s or similar financial systems
• Strong business judgment and decision-making ability
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to structure and negotiate credit facilities effectively
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Capable of working independently as well as in team environments
