The Mortgage Loan Consultant - Retail position emphasizes delivering outstanding customer service to every client. Responsibilities include leveraging internal and external referral sources to grow mortgage loan business and establishing and nurturing strong community and business relationships.

As a Mortgage Loan Consultant, you will be responsible for building and maintaining customer relationships, identifying financial needs, and recommending appropriate banking products and services. This role combines customer service, sales, and financial guidance to deliver an exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Expands and enhances internal and external referral channels to drive the growth of the mortgage business.
• Guides clients on selecting mortgage loan options and other financial products through consultative sales techniques.
• Provides exceptional customer service throughout the entire approval-to-closing process by collaborating with loan origination sources to verify all required information for underwriting.
• Maintains and strengthens client relationships.
• Assists clients in properly completing and submitting their loan applications.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One or more years of mortgage loan origination experience, preferably in a banking environment.
• Active NMLS license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Established pipeline and book of business.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Knowledge of mortgage loan types including conventional, FHA/VA, construction lending, and portfolio programs.
• Understanding of mortgage procedures, documentation, and underwriting guidelines.
• Proven ability to identify cross-selling opportunities for financial products and services.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with PC and internet-based applications.
