Risk and Audit Associate

Job Description:

Partners with their assigned Line of Business, other Risk/Compliance/Audit professionals, and RCA Managers to create, implement, maintain, review or oversee an effective risk management framework. Participates in projects and activities that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Identifies gaps and informs solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems or human errors. Identifies, responds to, and escalates risks as appropriate. Serves as a functional liaison between the Line of Business and the Lines of Defense.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist audit management in planning audit engagements, including risk assessment, business process analysis, and control design evaluation
• Guide staff auditors in performing control testing using approved audit methodologies and documentation standards
• Collaborate with audit leadership to identify audit issues, assess root causes, and recommend cost-effective solutions
• Support audit reporting activities, including drafting audit reports and summaries
• Apply coaching feedback to improve performance and professional growth
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
• Typically more than five years of applicable professional experience

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Strong knowledge of financial services, including accounting, financial reporting, taxation, SOX, regulatory compliance, and risk management
• In-depth understanding of international internal audit professional standards
• CIA, CPA, or other relevant professional certification or advanced academic qualification
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines

Work Schedule:

This role follows a hybrid work schedule requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office, with remote work flexibility on remaining days.
