At Regions, the Mortgage Loan Officer oversees the initiation of residential mortgage loans from a borrower using a branch network.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Handles the preparation of mortgage applications for review by the loan processing and underwriting teams
• Assesses loan applications, reviews financial information, and ascertains the eligibility of assets and the credit background of clients
• Stays in touch with the borrower, updating them on the loan status and collecting necessary paperwork
• Adapting loans to adhere to approved lending standards and national regulations
• Develop a comprehensive marketing and business strategy outlining the identification of potential and current loan clients, real estate agents, constructors, and property developers, along with a clearly defined schedule for regular communication
• Addressing inquiries from customers via phone and in-person regarding different loan options and eligibility criteria
• Initiates sales outreach to potential or current clients as outlined in the Regions marketing strategy with the aim of cultivating new clientele or maintaining current ones
• Promotes additional bank offerings and services to customers
• Reviews evaluations and assessments, then implements corrective measures to address infringements and breaches
• Engage in networking within professional, business, and community circles to enhance visibility and advocate for loan offerings

This role involves monitoring hours worked and is entitled to receive overtime pay as per the Fair Labor Standards Act for any hours exceeding 40 per week.

Requirements:

• Obtaining a high school diploma or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) is essential for educational advancement
• Demonstrated accomplishment in mortgage lending over a year with verifiable mortgage output
• Extensive background in the mortgage industry with a focus on cultivating external relationships through referral networks such as real estate agents, construction professionals, and financial advisors

Preferences:

• Bachelor's degree
• Previous work as a Mortgage Loan Officer

Skills and Competencies:

• Good organizational skills
• Experienced in understanding various mortgage offerings, platforms, jargon, taxation guidelines, as well as aid schemes for initial payments.
• Being well-versed in agency and investor regulations and protocols
• It is essential to cultivate and uphold both internal and external connections to ensure the provision of exceptional service
• Being capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously while juggling conflicting demands and adhering to strict time constraints is essential
• Skilled in using Microsoft Office applications
• Sales acumen
• Effective written and oral communication abilities

Incentive Pay Plans:
