The Universal Banker position is designed to offer a comprehensive approach to customer service by providing tailored solutions, promoting the bank's offerings, and managing financial transactions. Customer engagement and satisfaction are at the core of this role, emphasizing the importance of effective communication and product education.
Position Accountabilities:
Promote customer allegiance by conducting needs-based dialogues aimed at delivering a personalized customer service approach
Stay informed about the spectrum of banking products and services available within each branch of the business
Exhibit proficiency in operating digital banking tools like Zoom, Appointment Scheduler, DocuSign, GRO, Online Banking, Mobile Banking, and ATM Banking
Stimulate proactive sales interactions through internal and external communications like outbound calls, transforming service encounters into sales prospects, engaging with tellers, and organizing meetings
Secure new clients through active prospecting while also enriching and solidifying existing relationships
Identify and secure sales opportunities to meet personal and branch sales milestones
Facilitate the increase in branch reach through the acquisition and retention of clientele
Form partnerships with the Mortgage, Investments, Business Banking, Commercial Banking, Merchant Services, and Treasury Management groups to streamline operations
Acknowledge and address the necessities for loans and financial solutions
Support clients in resolving challenges related to deposit, credit, and other banking services
Review sales performance indicators and adapt approaches for goal attainment as per scorecard evaluations
- Carry out teller responsibilities, such as dealing with cash handling and transactions
Verify cash transactions daily to ensure complete and correct accounting
Adhere to the entirety of banking laws and regulations, which includes the enforcement of BSA/AML procedures
Control risk by following guidelines and exercising careful discernment within set frameworks
Complete advanced branch operational tasks as assigned
Comply with all training requirements
Undertake further assignments as designated
Organizational Relationship:
Reporting to the designated branch leader is a requirement of this position.
Academic and Professional Prerequisites:
Required to have NMLS registration or be able to acquire it
The minimum educational prerequisite is a high school diploma or its equal, but candidates with an associate degree are preferred
A year or more of experience in banking or financial services is advantageous
Having at least one year of experience in customer relationship management and sales is advantageous
It is advantageous to have previous exposure to cash handling
Having a background as a teller is a significant advantage
The role necessitates prior work experience in customer service
Lending experience preferred
Knowledge and Skills:
Proficient in delivering exceptional customer care and ensuring a positive experience for clients
Effective verbal and written communication aptitude
Displaying adeptness in business judgment and effective decision-making aptitude
Advanced skills in computer operations and digital banking technologies
Competence in managing multiple assignments while being meticulous in attention to detail
Adaptable and open to changing circumstances
Shifts can be adjusted as per the business requirements. Being capable of standing for extended periods and carrying items weighing up to 30 pounds are necessary skills. Salary will be determined by the level of education, experience, and certifications of the candidate. Additionally, this position may be eligible for additional income through performance incentives or discretionary profit-sharing bonuses.
