A Home Loan Officer primarily assists clients in securing mortgage financing for purchasing homes, refinancing existing loans, or funding home improvement projects.

Atlantic Union Bank is seeking Home Loan Officers for the Tidewater Market in Virginia, including Virginia Beach, Hampton Roads, Chesapeake, and Norfolk. This role requires a minimum of two years of recent Mortgage Loan Officer experience, along with demonstrated relationships and production within a defined market.

This position is responsible for originating and closing mortgage loan applications, submitting completed loan files for processing, and delivering exceptional customer service. It also involves developing and executing a comprehensive business strategy to drive sales growth and strengthen referral networks.

Position Accountabilities:

• Assist clients in completing mortgage applications via phone, mail, or in-person interactions and ensure proper disclosure approvals
• Ensure all required application fields and third-party documentation are complete prior to submission
• Determine appropriate loan program placement including FHA, VA, Conventional, USDA, and others
• Follow company policies when pricing loans and locking interest rates
• Review loan applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance
• Analyze AUS findings and review required supporting documentation
• Prepare pre-qualification packages in accordance with company guidelines
• Order credit reports, property appraisals, and title documentation
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients and referral partners
• Guide borrowers throughout the loan process and respond to inquiries
• Ensure timely submission of loan files and coordinate with processing teams
• Monitor loan pipeline and track progress to meet deadlines
• Support processors and other stakeholders during loan processing
• Meet or exceed production and performance targets
• Attend loan closings when required
• Develop annual business plans and maintain regular communication with sales leadership
• Stay updated on market trends, real estate conditions, and regulatory changes
• Maintain professionalism in accordance with company policies

Organizational Relationship:

• Reports to Sales Manager or Branch Manager

Position Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Minimum two years of mortgage lending or related industry experience required
• NMLS registration required

Knowledge and Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to generate independent leads and develop new business opportunities
• Strong client relationship management skills
• Knowledge of mortgage products and underwriting guidelines
• Ability to work effectively with clients, processors, and internal teams

Compensation and Equal Opportunity:

Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, certifications, and other relevant factors. This position may also qualify for incentive compensation or discretionary profit-sharing bonuses.
