Investment Consultant work closely with clients to understand their individual needs and concerns, tailoring financial recommendations to address their specific circumstances.
This role is accountable to invoke trust and build strong client relationships, determine individual investment needs and provide professional, customized advice to ensure clients' financial goals are met. You will provide a superior client onboarding experience, actively reviewing client portfolios and preparing and presenting appropriate investment solutions by leveraging various tools provided by the bank. Being the first point of client contact, the Investment Consultant's core mandate is to provide investment recommendations based on client suitability, time frame, and goals. The Investment Consultant has the ultimate goal of building and solidifying customer loyalty while deepening client relationships.

Being knowledgeable about financial markets and recognizing when to provide clients with recommendations is crucial

Annual inspections of fee-based account fees and services
Financial:
Responsible for overseeing the continued development of the portfolio
Meet the monthly sales objective
Collection of Assets from External Origins (such as sourcing from current and new clients)
Advice on Maturities
Uncovering uninvested opportunities
Risk:
Conforming to the internal and FINRA audit prerequisites
The Advisor's role as gatekeeper involves overseeing approvals that meet the standards and expectations defined by industry regulators
Financial Advice:

Solution Positioning
Upholding the Protection of client Personal Information
Trading:
Accuracy
Discipline order/confirmation
Evaluate the necessity of carrying out the trade
Ensure that every suggestion is in accordance with the Best Interest Contract (BIC)
Stay current and adaptable to the fluctuating regulatory landscape
Demonstrate profound knowledge and serve as a pivotal expert in software tools such as LPL's ClientWorks, SalesForce, and Moneyguide-Pro
Tasks, Authority & Decision-Making:
Decision Making - Present investment recommendations considering the client's appropriateness, time horizon, and financial goals
Delivers wealth and investment services to BMO clients and potential customers by understanding their financial goals and requirements. Provides tailored wealth and investment advice that prioritizes the customer's interests.
Conducts customer service and sales operations in compliance with approved standards and identifies and recommends clients to other business sectors.
Skill in explaining Cost Basis, Tax paperwork, IRA (Individual Retirement Account) RMD (Required Minimum Distribution) withdrawals, and understanding early withdrawal penalties is key to financial acumen
Authenticate client account information and obtain all necessary regulatory approvals
Utilize authority to steer the direction of investment advice provision in alignment with the BIS offer and the regulations governing securities
The responsibilities within this position are instrumental in reaching important business unit goals
Knowledge and Skills:
Applicants must hold a college diploma and possess 3-5 years of experience within the financial sector
It is typical within the financial field for individuals to obtain licenses like Series 7 and 66, or to opt for a combination like Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses alongside insurance licensing for life and health plans
Compliance with the clear background check requirements set forth by U4 is required
The administration of continuing education falls under the jurisdiction of both BMO and FINRA
