Job Description:

Provide quality, accurate, and timely customer service through the daily processing of financial transactions in a retail banking environment. As the first point of contact for many clients, the Cash Handling Associate builds strong relationships by delivering excellent service, recommending appropriate bank products, and referring clients to other areas of the Bank as needed. This role supports revenue growth by developing and maintaining long-term, profitable client relationships while ensuring compliance with operational and procedural standards and maintaining proper control of cash.

Qualifications:

• Meeting the educational requirement includes having a high school diploma or GED.
• Applicants with six months of experience in handling cash or working as a teller, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite operations.
• Adept at utilizing office and financial equipment, including a 10-key calculator and coin-counting device.
• Successful passing of the DeGarmo Retail Behavioral Assessment is compulsory.
• The completion time for the assessment is estimated at about 12–15 minutes, and it must be submitted before the review of the application.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities:

Operational Efficiency:

• Uphold cash handling standards and maintain a balanced cash drawer to facilitate accurate financial transactions.
• Stick to all audit, security, and operational policies and procedures in place.
• Execute customer transactions, including but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments.
• Process diverse transactions like bonds, municipal coupons, and money orders.
• Help with the routine reconciliation and operation of ATMs, covering all required transactions.
• Certifying the deposits processed through night and lobby depositories.
• Guide in the proper execution of dual control vault duties.
• Stay informed about operational changes and procedural updates to ensure consistent compliance.

Client Experience:

• Maintain a standard of positive and professional interactions with clients at all times.
• Effectively and speedily resolve any questions or concerns raised by clients.
• Aid clients in managing specific service requirements to deliver an outstanding overall service experience.
• Increase understanding of products and services by attending sales meetings, training sessions, and online learning resources.

Sales and Service:

• Recognize moments to propose related items to clients during interactions.
• Guide customers and prospects towards the relevant internal contacts for further assistance.
• Bolster client loyalty by promoting a range of bank products and services tailored to their needs.

Compliance and risk management encompass both regulatory adherence and strategic risk mitigation efforts:

• Conform to the regulations, policies, procedures, and internal controls put in place by the bank.
• Stick to the recognized risk management criteria and observe the ethical code articulated by First Horizon.
• Undertake all other assigned job tasks.
