Position Summary:Internal Control Analyst

The Internal Control Analyst is responsible for assisting in the execution and documentation of risk-based internal audit assurance activities, including complex assignments. This role interprets audit results, identifies internal control weaknesses, and provides value-added recommendations. The Senior Internal Auditor may also lead segments or primary elements of smaller audits or special reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and guide client interactions, documenting outcomes with descriptive narratives, flowcharts, and process maps to outline intricate business protocols.
• Evaluate process documentation to measure the design, efficacy, and streamlining of controls utilized.
• Design and implement data-driven audit testing strategies within the audit process.
• Recognize flaws in internal control systems, risks at hand, and the foundational causes.
• Assist junior team members in improving their performance and fostering their professional growth.
• Clearly communicate identified audit challenges to both Management and the Engagement Manager.
• Improve your auditing abilities by enhancing risk assessment and project planning capacities.
• Develop a deeper knowledge base on how organizations operate, their policies and procedures, and adherence to banking regulations.
• Craft audit work papers following the prescribed procedures and documentation standards of Truist Audit Services.
• Execute tasks independently with minimal oversight to meet established timelines and objectives.
• Embrace and put into practice constructive comments to elevate future effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related subject, or an equal combination of educational attainment and practical exposure is a prerequisite.
• Successful candidates will have garnered between four and six years of experience in banking, auditing, or a related sector.
• Broadening understanding of technology principles, cybersecurity strategies, management of IT networks, IT service protocols, and current trends in the IT domain.
• Acquiring knowledge about IT General Controls (ITGCs), IT Application Controls (ITACs), and the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) is indispensable for IT specialists.
• Expanding knowledge of IT, information security, and cloud regulation frameworks such as COSO, COBIT, NIST, SOX, and PCI DSS.
• Strong decision-making skills.
• Thorough understanding of audit basics, techniques, methodologies, risk evaluation, and documentation procedures.
• Improving proficiency in analytical, audit, and facilitation skills.
• Capability to comprehend the foundational principles of complex data.
• Aptitude for determining root sources and integrating insights for viable solutions.
• Expertise with Microsoft Office suites.
• Competence in balancing multiple responsibilities of varying complexity.
• Competence in working solo with minimal direction.

Preferred Experience & Credentials:

• Professional certifications like CISSP, CISA, and CIA, or a willingness to attain them, are beneficial attributes.
• Familiarity with utilizing Truist Audit Services technology and business-focused applications.
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Information Technology from a university is essential.
• Verifying the precision, thoroughness, and reliability of regulatory validation data and documentation.
• Knowledgeable in the planning and execution of regulatory validation testing protocols.
