Job Description for Banking Services Specialist:

Provide exceptional, accurate, and timely customer service by processing financial transactions and opening accounts in a retail banking environment. The Banking Services Specialist engages with potential customers to introduce them to bank products and services and offers personalized guidance to current clients to strengthen relationships. By meeting or surpassing sales and referral goals, this role participates in outbound sales initiatives and supports banking center management as required.

Qualifications for Banking Services Specialist:

• As a basic requirement, individuals must hold either a high school diploma or a GED.
• Teller experience of one year is the preferred qualification.
• Adequate clearance in the credit check is a necessary condition for completion of the background investigation.

Sales and Service:

• Ensure efficient service delivery by offering support to tellers and customers to reduce wait times.
• Manage teller operations, including deposit processing, cash withdrawals, currency management, and check cashing.
• Establish and maintain deposit accounts such as checking, savings, IRAs, CDs, and money market accounts.
• Engage in consultative discussions to identify client needs and recommend suitable financial products and services.
• Increase revenue by encouraging cross-sell opportunities and referring clients to bank partners, fostering long-term relationships.
• Participate in deposit and loan campaigns via regular outbound calls to clients and prospects.
• Assist clients with personal and retail consumer loan applications and ensure completed forms are submitted to the appropriate team member.

• Analyze and resolve client issues, responding to inquiries regarding account status.
• Ensure every client interaction is professional, positive, and consistent.
• Quickly and efficiently address client questions and concerns.
• Enhance knowledge of products and services through sales meetings, training sessions, and online learning.

Compliance and Risk Management:

• Follow all applicable banking regulations, policies, procedures, and internal risk controls.
• Adhere to risk management standards and the ethical framework outlined in the First Horizon Code of Ethics.
• Maintain compliance with the S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and related regulatory requirements.

Operational Efficiency:

• Guide and advise banking center staff on operational tasks, with emphasis on audit procedures.
• Provide hands-on training for new associates to support their development in banking center operations.
• Stay updated on operational changes and procedural adjustments to ensure compliance.
• Complete all other job-related duties as assigned.

Computer and Office Equipment Skills:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications.
• Skilled in using office and banking equipment, including a 10-key calculator and coin counter.

DeGarmo Behavioral Assessment Requirement:

• Completion of the DeGarmo Retail Behavioral Assessment is required for all candidates.
• The assessment typically takes 12-15 minutes to complete.
• Assessment results must be submitted before Talent Acquisition reviews applications.
