Job Overview:

The Mortgage Sales Officer is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans while delivering outstanding customer service throughout the lending process. This role focuses on developing referral networks, building strong client relationships, and assisting borrowers in identifying financing solutions aligned with their financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Expand mortgage lending opportunities by generating referrals, engaging in networking activities, and building relationships with clients, real estate professionals, builders, title companies, and other industry partners.
• Consult with prospective borrowers to evaluate financial profiles, credit history, and home financing needs.
• Recommend mortgage solutions and clearly explain loan programs, pricing structures, and eligibility requirements.
• Develop and maintain long-term referral relationships and business partnerships to support consistent loan origination.
• Maintain strong knowledge of mortgage products, underwriting guidelines, processes, and compliance requirements.
• Deliver high-quality customer service throughout the entire mortgage application and approval process.
• Participate in ongoing training and stay updated on industry regulations and lending practices.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and internal policies, including BSA and AML regulations.
• Promote a strong sales- and service-oriented culture within the organization.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of mortgage lending experience preferred, along with at least 1 year in real estate or sales.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field may substitute for experience.
• Strong understanding of mortgage lending regulations, underwriting standards, and loan programs.
• Familiarity with FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and residential mortgage products.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently with professionalism and accountability.
