Job Summary:

The Corporate Banker delivers customized financial solutions by assisting clients with their daily banking needs, managing account operations, and recommending suitable products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

• Establish a consistent workflow for SBA business growth, covering activities such as:
• Planning and executing phone communications with follow-ups
• Conducting client retention calls
• Prospecting new clients
• Engaging with external parties through outbound calls
• Participating in networking events
• Maintain and expand a Center of Influence (COI) network of key community and business leaders to drive referrals
• Manage sales processes, analyze creditworthiness, structure loans, submit SBA loan applications, conduct client meetings, and assess client suitability
• Identify and develop new business relationships to expand professional networks

Credit Acumen:

• Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of business lending solutions, including:
• Structuring loan terms and offerings aligned with business requirements, asset life cycles, and growth strategies
• Reviewing personal and business financial statements and tax records to evaluate creditworthiness and risk
• Assessing short- and long-term credit needs based on business cycles and expansion plans
• Educating clients on bank loan evaluation processes, SBA programs, and applicable regulations
• Collaborating with attorneys, loan closers, and internal teams to ensure timely loan closure and funding
• Balancing business objectives with client needs while mitigating risk
• Adhering to Seacoast Bank’s Code of Conduct and ethical standards
• Mentoring junior SBA lenders to support their professional development
• Following all bank policies, including compliance with BSA, AML, and OFAC regulations
• Reviewing loan applications, collecting required client data, and maintaining fair lending and ethical sales practices
• Addressing client concerns promptly and escalating issues as necessary

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in finance or a related field preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in SBA lending preferred
• At least 10 years of experience in business development or financial services
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency with desktop computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and Microsoft Office Suite
