The Centralized Commercial Lending Renewal Team requires a Business Loan Underwriter to review and assess business loan applications following the designated policies and guidelines of the Bank.

Responsibilities:

• Assess cash flow reports and Moody's spreads produced by either self-preparation or by the Credit Analyst. Examine financial details comprehensively to decide on endorsing or rejecting new loan requests in accordance with Bank policies. Prepare a clear and concise Credit Origination Memorandum that outlines strengths, weaknesses, and risk-alleviating factors.
• Examine, evaluate, and scrutinize financial and relevant information to determine the creditworthiness of potential borrowers and the validity of specific loan requests. Coordinate with Relationship Managers and leadership to gather all essential details needed for accurate and thorough evaluations of loan eligibility.
• Develop meticulous credit authorization paperwork that involves thorough evaluations and identification of credit problems and uncertainties. Use Excel to spread and interpret financial statements, tax filings, and forecasts to provide a detailed analysis.
• Offer recommendations on loan structuring and propose alternative frameworks suitable for different types of transactions.
• Conducting operations in a high-volume arena, meeting or surpassing Service Level Agreements and turnaround targets by delivering prompt credit verdicts.
• Work autonomously on unique projects concerning credit matters specified by Bank Credit teams.
• Vigilantly monitor for any suspicious behavior and promptly report any concerns, in line with the established protocols and to contribute to a secure banking environment.
• Execute any other assigned duties.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's degree is mandatory or a corresponding merging of educational attainment and practical application is applicable.
• Well-versed in the scrutiny of commercial credit applications with three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience.

• Excelling in multitasking capabilities, showcasing meticulous organization skills, and displaying a sharp attention to detail.
• Competence in working without assistance and reaching justified decisions.
• Advanced skills in expressing thoughts through eloquent writing and articulate speech.
• Comprehension of basic banking procedures and knowledge of deposit, small business, investment, and insurance offerings.
• Skill in utilizing Moody's CreditLens is helpful.
• Preference is given to candidates with nCino knowledge.
