Job Description:

Partners with their assigned Line of Business, other Risk/Compliance/Audit professionals, and RCA Managers to create, implement, maintain, review or oversee an effective risk management framework. Participates in projects and activities that ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Identifies gaps and informs solutions that minimize losses resulting from inadequate internal processes, systems or human errors. Identifies, responds to, and escalates risks as appropriate. Serves as a functional liaison between the Line of Business and the Lines of Defense.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the audit team management in planning audit engagements, including understanding risk and risk management techniques, identifying and analyzing business processes, key risks and critical controls, interviewing auditees, and evaluating control design adequacy.
  • Performing or supervising staff auditors in testing controls based on audit program directions. Includes using appropriate sampling and control testing techniques, identifying and assessing relevant issues, and documenting work performed to support audit conclusions and meet internal audit policies.
  • Drafting audit issues under the supervision of audit team management, including identifying exposures, significance, root causes, and developing cost-effective recommendations.
  • Assisting audit team management in reporting and wrap-up phases of audits, including drafting audit reports.
  • Learning from and applying coaching received.
  • Performing other duties as requested by management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically more than five years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Relevant Financial Services Industry knowledge (e.g., Financial Reporting, Accounting, Tax, SOX, Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management)
  • Thorough understanding of the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing
  • CIA, CPA, or other relevant professional designation or advanced degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously

Work Schedule:

The role offers a hub schedule with an in-office expectation of at least 3 days per week, with additional flexibility to work remotely on other days.
